Matt Greene

From my first job hawking peanuts and crackerjacks in high school at Padres and Chargers games in San Diego to running companies and sales teams in the startup space, I’ve seen a bit of everything, grown a sizable network, and have learned to balance and succeed with intense work hours with family health responsibilities. I’ve been party to amazing growth and some epic failures, both on the professional and personal fronts. Those 25 years of learning experiences have led me to today.

I'm Matt and I’ve worked inside startups on the leadership teams, as well as founded my own companies, and I've seen firsthand the struggles faced when it comes to growing sales. Whether they're startups or a larger “stabilized” business going through big changes, it's like they're on a crazy rollercoaster ride without a map.

Some folks think that hiring a CRO or VP of Sales is the answer, but here's the catch: they often don't have the right support in place at the outset. Oftentimes they are missing marketing, strategy, and a solid team. It's like trying to build a rocket ship while juggling a thousand other things like meetings, hiring a team, establishing product market fit, CRM management, travel, closing deals, and figuring out who their ideal customers are. Yikes!

And hey, let's not forget about the founders and CEOs who take on sales responsibilities themselves. They're superheroes, but let's face it, they might not have had formal sales training. Time, capacity, expertise and alignment with the leadership team and investors can become serious roadblocks for them. Not to mention burnout.

Well, guess what? I believe there's a better way! Just like you'd hire an expert marketing or finance team, you should be able to bring in specialized sales pros to fuel your growth. No huge compensation plans or complicated equity deals are needed.
